There are few random mechanics in Hero Wars Dominion, but they are useful and can be turned to your advantage.
In defense, they ensure the attacker cannot be sure of his victory. Even if your team is maxed and he simulates the fight beforehand, there is always a possibility of failure. This is what makes earth+light titan teams dominant in CoW.
In offense, you can press escape before the end of a fight to let the game run an automatic combat and get a better outcome than the one you were going to have
Titans
Among titans there are only two random mechanics:
Eden's burial chooses a random opponent
Primal Zeal has a random chance to proc
Heroes
The main two sources of randomness for heroes are dodge and crit.
